About our Private Guide Service...
We provide the guide just for you and will match the person to your needs. We do this for:
- Schools
- Outdoor Programs
- Travel Organizations
- Families or Reunions
- Individuals with special needs
Our guides are licensed, trained and experienced outdoors people who will enhance your enjoyment of the outdoors and give you a new appreciation for the art of canoeing, outdoor cooking, nature study or fishing. A guide will assist you in any task that will help make your trip even more enjoyable. We will ask you some questions about why you are hiring the services of a guide in order to help us select the best guide for your party. A guide is available for $225-325/ day for up to six people, $25 for each additional person. This includes the cost of the guides outfitting.
About Our Guides
Addison Bickford
A ten year veteran guide and graduate of Paul Smith's College, guides canoeing and kayaking, XC skiing, hiking and sailing trips. The focus of his trips often builds on his love of the earth and his formal instruction in forestry. He studied organic gardening and farming at the University of CA at Santa Cruz and still produces maple syrup and hardwood lumber on his homestead near Rainbow Lake. He enjoys trips with his three children and fiddles professionally with several local bands.
Gary Caudle (aka "Griz") With an outgoing, entertaining personality Griz looks like and lives up to the name. With a advanced degree in Psychology he teaches and runs experimental programs at SUNY Genesseo when not working for St. Regis. In winter he instructs snowboard instructors throughout the Northeast.
Dave Cilley
Producer of the new Adirondack Paddler's Map, a degree in botany and extensive paddling experience make Dave a fun person to be with while exploring the backcountry. Dave has guided rock and ice climbing, XC skiing and all forms of paddlesports before starting St. Regis.
Sue Patterson
A love of cooking and outdoor lore makes Sue a joy on any trip. She enjoys kayaking, guideboating and canoeing and is a ten year veteran racer in the Adirondack Classic 90 Miler. She has canoed and traveled extensively in the US and abroad.
JoAnn Perry
JoAnn is a native Adirondacker, licensed guide and ACA certified canoe and kayak instructor. She guides whitewater rafting on the Hudson River and enjoys mountain biking when not paddling. Her other work is as a licensed massage therapist. JoAnn has studied psychology at Naropa University in Boulder CO and is currently studying anthropology at SUNY Plattsburgh, NY. She enjoys instilling her love of the outdoors with both adults and children.

Reservations
Reservations can be made with a deposit of one half the total guide cost. Please call us for your guide fee.
